Canada plans to open as many doors to immigrants, in 2012. Immigration Minister, Jason Kenney, wants next year to receive about 55,000 immigrants, mostly white.
Estimated figure for this year is 47,000 immigrants. Kenney wants to attract more skilled workers, although this would mean fewer immigrants in other categories, especially live-in caregivers, spouses and dependent children.
