The 65th La Chorrera International Fair opened officially on Wednesday, January 21, launching an 11-day celebration of Panamanian culture, commerce, and agriculture. The event, one of the country’s most popular, is expected to draw over 300,000 visitors to the district of La Chorrera, Panama<\/a> before it concludes on February 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizers commenced the fair with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony. Folkloric groups in traditional “pollera” dresses and musical bands provided entertainment for the opening day crowd, setting a festive tone for the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cultural Passport Guides Fairgoers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A new “cultural passport” serves as this year’s primary innovation for visitor navigation. This guide includes a detailed map of the fairgrounds and highlights scheduled activities, cultural spaces, and recommended routes. Fair officials designed the passport to enhance the guest experience. It is available for purchase at all main entrances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fair’s programming showcases a broad spectrum of national traditions. Five dedicated artisan zones feature crafts from across Panama, including pottery, woodwork, and other handmade items. The event also offers extensive agricultural displays and a wide variety of local cuisine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
