The move directly responds to frequent robbery complaints from students and public transport users. More than 5,000 people will benefit from the upgraded infrastructure daily.<\/p>\n

The Stops are part of a campaign promise to transform traditional public spaces into smart zones. They now operate as Safe Smart Points connected 24\/7 to the SIVIMUPA video surveillance system. Officials say the integration with the citizen hotline 150 strengthens emergency response capabilities significantly.<\/p>\n

Technology and Security Features at the New Stops<\/h2>\n

Each structure includes HD\/PTZ cameras, panic buttons, and emergency intercoms. LED lighting and real-time monitoring allow for faster response to any risk situation. The Stops also offer free high-capacity WiFi with 4G\/5G backup, USB-C and USB-A ports for mobile charging, and digital screens displaying routes, schedules, and emergency alerts.<\/p>\n

Company JCDecaux contributed physical and electrical infrastructure at no cost to the Municipality of Panama. This public-private partnership model allows the city to expand its Panama City<\/strong> Smart City initiatives<\/a> without overburdening the municipal budget. The Mayor Mayer Mizrachi<\/a> administration continues pushing projects that integrate security, connectivity, mobility, and citizen services into modern public spaces.<\/p>\n
