Panama’s Ministry of Culture has determined that the old Balboa Heights railway station does not hold official historic status. The building sits in the Anc\u00f3n district near the ongoing Fourth Bridge project. The ruling came after technical reviews by multiple government agencies.<\/p>\n

The Balboa Heights railway station<\/a> has cultural value but lacks a formal heritage declaration. Ministry of Culture officials confirmed this position following joint evaluations with the Ministry of Public Works and the Panama Fourth Bridge Consortium. These groups have held working meetings to coordinate planned interventions in the area.<\/p>\n

Construction on the massive Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal<\/a> has been underway for roughly two years. The project was originally put out to bid nine years ago. Its eastern interchange layout has remained unchanged since that time.<\/p>\n

Station Has Sat in Deterioration for Years<\/h2>\n
