The 600-page book, which records one of the most pivotal moments in the nation&#8217;s history, recently underwent its first ever restoration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nairobia Escrucer\u00eda, director of the Public Registry, handed over the fragile volume to the president of the Panama Municipal Council during a formal ceremony. She described the document&#8217;s condition as critical. The book suffered from three distinct types of damage: biological, chemical, and physical. Insects had burrowed through the paper, leaving tiny holes that consumed portions of the text. The first six pages showed the worst deterioration, with some letters completely lost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Donoso explained that the paper had become acidic over time, a common problem for documents from that era.
