Panama earthquake donations are being collected at multiple sites across the country following the magnitude 7.5 tremor<\/a> that struck on Friday, October 9, causing structural damage in Veraguas, the Azuero Peninsula<\/a>, and Cocl\u00e9. Authorities and private organizations activated collection centers<\/a> on Saturday to gather essential supplies for displaced families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seismic event<\/a> also affected schools and homes in Panama, Chiriqu\u00ed, Bocas del Toro, and the Ng\u00e4be-Bugl\u00e9 and Ember\u00e1 indigenous regions. The government declared a state of emergency as damage assessments continued through the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Panama Earthquake Donations Collection Points and Hours<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Panama City mayor’s office opened a donation center on the ground floor of the Hatillo building, operating Saturday until 6:00 p.m. The Catholic University Santa Mar\u00eda La Antigua (USMA) will accept contributions on October 12, 13, and 14 at its gymnasium from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional drop-off locations include the Vega neighborhood park starting at 7:00 p.m., with supplies directed to hospitals in the country’s interior. The Omar Park Dome will receive donations on October 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Supermarket chain Riba Smith established a collection point specifically for Azuero Peninsula victims, while Plaza La Cabima accepts donations until 10:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
