An overloaded vessel capsized Tuesday off the coast of Bocas del Toro province<\/a> amid severe weather<\/a> and heavy swells<\/a>. All eight people aboard, including a child, escaped without injury, according to the Panama Maritime Authority<\/a> (AMP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The boat was en route to the indigenous comarca of Kusap\u00edn<\/a> when it overturned in the bay near Chiriqu\u00ed Grande<\/a>. Officials confirmed that six passengers and two crew members were rescued safely, crediting life jackets for preventing casualties during the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the survivors was a minor child. The quick response from nearby vessels and local authorities helped ensure that no one required hospitalization.
