Panama’s Tocumen S.A. has launched a public aircraft scrap auction<\/a><\/strong> to sell metallic material from 11 aircraft declared abandoned and in scrap condition. The state-owned airport operator announced the sale will free up critical operational space<\/a> at two airports while addressing safety and environmental hazards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six of the derelict aircraft sit on the cargo terminal platform at Tocumen International Airport<\/a>. The remaining five are located on grounds at Panam\u00e1 Pac\u00edfico International Airport. Removal of these structures will allow Tocumen to reclaim areas for other operational uses, company officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aircraft Scrap Auction Timeline and Inspection Dates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Interested buyers must register through Panama’s public procurement portal, Panam\u00e1 Compra, under act number 2026-2-02-0-99-SB-012020. The formal bidding process follows conditions established in the tender specifications published on the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Site visits are scheduled in two blocks. Inspections at the Tocumen cargo terminal run Tuesday, October 20 and Wednesday, October 21 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Panam\u00e1 Pac\u00edfico inspections follow on Thursday, October 22 and Friday, October 23 during the same hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Proposal submission is set for Thursday, October 29, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Individuals and companies that meet the process requirements and complete prior registration may participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
