A 27-year-old Panama resident was among those hurt in the Spain train collision<\/a><\/strong> near Toledo<\/a> on Wednesday, October 28, when a high-speed AVE train<\/a> struck another train roughly 150 kilometers south of Madrid. Nicol\u00e1s Tribaldos, who was traveling as a tourist, told Spanish newspaper El Pa\u00eds that he suffered severe chest contusions<\/a> after being thrown several meters inside the fifth carriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emergency responders confirmed at least 68 fatalities and dozens more injured in the crash. Tribaldos transported himself to Hospital La Paz in Madrid, bypassing facilities closer to the disaster site that he believed would be overwhelmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
