A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Panama today, Saturday, October 31 at 10:50 a.m. local time, rattling communities across Los Santos province<\/a> and prompting a temporary evacuation of the Panama Metro system<\/a>. The 5.9 Panama earthquake<\/strong> occurred at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, with its epicenter located 20 kilometers northeast of Tonos\u00ed, according to revised data from the University of Panama’s Institute of Geosciences (IGC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No material damage or injuries were reported as of Saturday afternoon. The National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) confirmed it was maintaining constant monitoring from its Emergency Operations Center in coordination with the IGC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
