The 26th edition of Panama Fashion Week begins tomorrow at the Ciudad de las Artes, bringing together established designers, emerging talent, and industry experts through September 27. Organizers describe the event as ambitious, pairing runway presentations with a series of talks aimed at addressing shifting consumer habits, sustainability, and the financial realities of building a fashion brand.
The event opens Thursday with a benefit showcase and runs through Sunday, featuring designers from Panama, Spain, Costa Rica, and Brazil. Beyond the catwalk, the program includes 11 scheduled talks covering retail experience, brand expansion, and content strategy in the digital era.

Fashion Talks Bring Business Strategy to the Forefront
The reflection component of Panama Fashion Week unfolds through Fashion Talks, a series of conferences that begin Friday at 3:15 p.m. Architect Emily Cohen and public relations specialist Alessa Arias open with “Retail Experience,” followed by economist Carlos Araúz discussing how to invest and prepare finances for a successful business.
Brand development takes center stage when communicators Jessica Barboza and Stefanie de Roux present on brand creation and expansion. Carmela Osorio and Inés Sainz, the visionaries behind Spanish textile brand Casoná, will discuss building their company from the ground up. Image consultant Franklin Ramos Toscano closes the first day with “Beyond Fashion.”
Saturday’s talks begin with Ximena Mastellari, founder and creative director of The X Avenue, presenting “From Content to Cultbrand.” Business consultant Johanna Isaac Fadul follows with a session on transforming a fashion brand into a profitable business. A panel featuring Roberto Varela, Mariana Garrido, and Valery Alvarado examines the shift from social media to culture media.

Sustainability and Reinvention Define the 2026 Edition
Organizers emphasize that this year’s edition responds to an industry in constant reinvention. The program reflects growing concerns about sustainability and the accelerating pace of consumer preference changes driven by social media platforms. Designers attending the event will have opportunities to forge connections and strengthen networks within a sector where adaptation remains critical.
The Ciudad de las Artes venue provides a centralized space for both the runway shows and the professional development sessions. Full event details are available on the official Panama Fashion Week website, with shows and talks scheduled throughout each day of the four-day event.
